Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, impasto, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Traditional painting is painting with a physical medium as opposed to a more modern style like digital. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. All digital painting programs try to mimic the use of physical media through various brushes and paint effects. Included in many programs are brushes that are digitally styled to represent the traditional style like oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, pen and even media such as airbrushing. There are also certain effects unique to each type of digital paint which portraying the realistic effects of say watercolor on a digital 'watercolor' painting.[1] In most digital painting programs, the user can create their own brush style using a combination of texture and shape. This ability is very important in bridging the gap between traditional and digital painting.

Q: "...Art is to be shared for free or for sale?..."

A: In my opinion, selling simply adds more value to your work, that is material value, but more than that, your work will have a high value when you can share it, and make others happy, even without people buy it, that's the true value of your work.

However, if you want to continue working in a long time. It is also true if you should sell your work (make the criteria as: why I sell my work? to whom I would sell? which work I can sell? at what price? and what benefit you can get if you sell to that person?).

To convince you, think like this:

if you get the money from selling your work, just imagine what you can do with that money? You can create new works, you can give it to children at the orphanage, you will still be able to share with others in other way.

you always have a choice. Do what makes you comfortable...:)

"Il mio libro" or "my book" was made when I was working on college tasks with introductory book that is so thick. suddenly I saw my thick book started bumpy and full of beautiful color. :)

"deep in the sea"

"deep in the sea" is one of my first digital painting work. This picture also initiate the emergence of "la magia del colore". The mermaid was created by combining the irregular lines followed by mixing colors beautifully. the colors created as unusual, fin color exchanged with sea water color in general, fin was made with blue, while sea water was made with red color.
